The National Centre for Upgrading Technology
is a world leader in heavy oil and bitumen upgrading
research. Formed in 1995 as a partnership
between the Canadian federal and Alberta provincial
government. NCUT is committed to providing science
and technology research that will improve energy
efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions
in the heavy oil upgrading and refining industries.
Our research is focused on producing, from bitumen-derived
crudes, fuel products that will meet the demands
and expectations of Canadians into the 21st Century
and beyond.
In addition to our world-class research staff,
NCUT has positioned itself witnin a network of
