NCUT has six autoclaves in total: three that are semi-continuous, and three that are batch autoclaves. Each autoclave is a stainless steel vessel equipped with a stirrer that can be run at any RPM required, except for PP-6 which has no mixing. The mixer itself can be changed to meet program needs. All autoclaves are provided with a complete set of utilities: hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, nitrogen, water, and air. Other specialty gases can be provided as required.

  1. The three semi-continuous autoclaves (PP-6, 10 and 11) range in size from 17 mL to 2000 mL. The liquid is placed in the autoclave in a batch mode, but gas can be added and removed on a continuous basis. These units are attended full time while in operation. Any one of these units is ideal for preliminary experiments or subjecting materials to various process conditions. Click here to view and download a detailed profile of PP-6, 10 and 11.

  2. The three batch autoclaves that NCUT has in service (PP-7, 8 and 9) range in size from 300 mL to 1000 mL. (PP-11, which is a 2000-mL semi-continuous autoclave, can also be run in a batch mode.) These units are attended full time while in operation. Any one of these units is ideal for preliminary experiments or subjecting materials to various process conditions.
