NCUT’s PP-25 is a continuous delayed coker used
to investigate different process variables (such as pressure,
temperature, recycle ratio and liquid residence time)
in order to optimize the efficiency of existing commercial
cokers. It is also used to develop better delayed
coking processes through the investigation of new approaches,
additives, recycle streams, etc. The unit is completely
automated, controlled by a Paragon computer control system,
and is designed so that all normal and emergency functions
can be done with little or no intervention by an operator.
